General Inquiries and Full Contact Details
If you are new to the Disability Inclusion Initiative or are simply unsure which department should handle your request, the General Inquiries channel is your best initial contact point. This channel is managed by our central operations team, who are experts at triaging messages and forwarding them to the appropriate specialist for a timely response.
For all overarching questions about our mission, our history, or the broader impact of our work, please email us directly. The dedicated general email address is info@dii.lat. When you contact us here, you can expect an acknowledgement within 24 hours and a full response within 2 to 3 business days. This is also the appropriate channel if you wish to invite one of our leaders to speak at an upcoming event or if you have general feedback about our public materials that doesn’t relate to specific accessibility issues.
Our headquarters and mailing address for official correspondence, press kits, and formal submissions is: 3512 204TH ST SW APT H201, LYNNWOOD, WA 98036-6888 US. This physical address should be used exclusively for postal communication, as we strongly encourage electronic communication for speed and resource efficiency. Our central phone number for urgent needs, such as media deadlines or immediate operational DIII). This line is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and is prioritized for time-sensitive organizational matters.
Specialized Departmental Contacts for Targeted Action
To guarantee that your request is handled by the most qualified expert, we encourage you to use our dedicated departmental emails. This streamlines our process and allows our specialists to focus their resources on the area of impact you are addressing.
Advocacy and Policy Support
Our Advocacy and Policy (AP) team is at the forefront of our mission to break down barriers. They work on legislative change, track global policy trends, and prepare expert commentary on disability rights. If your communication involves the legal or governmental side of inclusion, this is the team for you. Please contact this department if you are an attorney seeking to collaborate on a landmark case, a government official seeking our input on a new bill (such as a proposed update to the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA), or a researcher with data relevant to a current systemic campaign. The AP team also handles inquiries from organizations wishing to co-sponsor legislative campaigns or endorse a public policy position we have taken. You can reach the Director of Public Policy and the entire team by emailing info@dii.lat. When writing, please include the relevant piece of legislation or the specific systemic barrier in the subject line. The AP team often works on complex, long-term issues, but aims to provide an initial, substantive response within 5 business days.
Education and Training Services
The Education and Training (ET) team is responsible for developing and delivering the resources that foster a culture of inclusion in workplaces, schools, and communities. They are the primary contact for anyone seeking to utilize our educational services. If your company is looking to book a workshop on inclusive hiring practices, if your school district needs a consultation on universal design principles for a new building, or if you are an individual with questions about our publicly available toolkits and guides, please reach out to this group. Furthermore, academics and researchers interested in collaborating on new curriculum development or those seeking permission to cite or translate our copyrighted materials should contact the ET team. We believe that education is the bedrock of accessibility, and this team ensures our knowledge reaches those who can enact change. You can contact our Head of Education and Programs and the full team at info@dii.lat.
Partnerships and Strategic Funding
The sustainability and reach of our mission are managed by the Partnerships and Funding (PF) team. They build strategic alliances with corporations, secure grants, and handle media relations. If you represent a corporation interested in a large-scale sponsorship of a specific campaign, such as our annual accessibility challenge or a major awareness month initiative, this is your dedicated contact point. Journalists, reporters, and producers seeking interviews with our executives, official statements, or access to our internal data for publication should also direct their inquiries here to ensure they meet their deadlines. Additionally, this team manages large-scale donor relations, endowment discussions, and questions about planned giving or corporate matching programs. For all official development and media inquiries, please email the VP of Development and Strategic Partnerships at partnerships@dii.lat.
Technology and Digital Accessibility
Our commitment to accessibility begins with our own platforms, and the Technology and Accessibility (TA) team maintains this high standard. This department is dedicated to ensuring our digital presence is navigable by all users, regardless of the assistive technology they use. If you encounter a specific barrier on our website, such as a screen reader issue, a keyboard navigation problem, a lack of alternative text for an image, or a broken link, you must contact this team immediately. When reporting an issue, please be as specific as possible, including the exact URL of the page, describing the problem, and stating the assistive technology and browser you were using (e.g., NVDA on Chrome). This team also reviews and implements all new technological tools we use internally and externally. Companies or developers interested in consulting with us on digital inclusion projects or those with suggestions for assistive technology we should incorporate should also contact the Digital Accessibility Lead and the TA team at tech@dii.lat. Your feedback here is crucial to maintaining our standard of excellence and ensuring our resources are open to everyone.
Resources for Personal Assistance and Direct Services
It is important to understand the scope of the Disability Inclusion Initiative. We are a non-profit advocacy and education organization dedicated to systemic change. We do not provide direct one-on-one services. This means we cannot offer individual legal counsel, personalized medical case management, or emergency financial aid. We recognize that individuals often contact us in moments of urgent need. To ensure you receive the most effective help, we strongly recommend you contact organizations specifically designed for direct services.
For individual legal advice regarding discrimination or denial of accommodations, you should reach out to the National Disability Rights Network or your country’s equivalent protection and advocacy services, as they have local attorneys dedicated to taking on individual cases. For emergency financial aid or immediate support with housing or medical bills, we advise contacting large local social service agencies or organizations like the United Way, as they are equipped to handle immediate needs. If you are seeking job placement, vocational training, or personalized employment assistance, your local Vocational Rehabilitation Center is the best starting point, as they specialize in one-on-one coaching. Finally, for peer support, local referrals, and independent living skills training, seek out a local Center for Independent Living (CIL).
While we cannot take on individual cases, if your personal situation is not an isolated incident but instead highlights a systemic, recurring flaw in a regional system (e.g., repeated, documented inaccessibility across a whole transit network), please document your experience and submit it to our Advocacy Team with “Systemic Issue Submission” in the subject line. We use these collective stories to fuel our legislative and educational campaigns, turning personal struggle into broad, positive policy change.
Joining Our Team: Volunteer and Career Connections
We rely on the passion and expertise of a diverse team to fulfill our mission. If you are looking to actively join our movement, there are two primary ways to connect.
Volunteer Engagement
Our volunteers are the engine of our Initiative, lending their time to everything from researching new inclusive education practices to managing social media campaigns. If you are ready to dedicate your time and skills, please visit our dedicated Volunteer Page (accessible from the main navigation menu). That page outlines all current opportunities, details our application process, and provides our Volunteer Handbook. For general inquiries about our volunteer program, you may email info@dii.lat.
Employment Opportunities
The Disability Inclusion Initiative is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity we champion. We actively recruit individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people from all cultural and educational backgrounds. All current paid staff positions and application details are listed on our Careers Page. For questions about the application process, or if you require reasonable accommodations during the interview and hiring process, please contact us directly. Recruitment questions should be directed to info@dii.lat.
Media and Social Connections and Our Operational Framework
All communications with the Disability Inclusion Initiative are handled through a lens of three core values: Respect and Dignity, Timeliness and Transparency, and Strategic Alignment. We operate under the principle that every individual deserves respect, and we ensure all staff are trained in inclusive, person-first language. We commit to transparency by providing stated response times—all email inquiries receive an automatic acknowledgement within 24 hours—and using an internal escalation policy if a request is delayed. Finally, every contact we receive is categorized and logged (anonymously) to inform our future strategic planning. Your question about how to make a website accessible, for example, tells our Education team to prioritize a new digital accessibility guide, while repeated reports of inaccessible facilities in a region tell our Advocacy team where to focus our legislative efforts. By contacting us, you are not just seeking information; you are providing the critical data that drives our work for systemic, scalable change across the globe. We appreciate your interest and your commitment to joining us in this effort.
